Little Library Project

Read. Return. Repeat.

Casablanca

Faced with the gap in Casablanca of getting their hands on great books in English, the creative writers of Ideas Write Now Casablanca proposed a way to get more books to those who loved reading.

Introducing Casablanca’s first Take A Book, Leave A Book concept in Casablanca.

Readers can enjoy the magic of storytelling without the cost.

Cartagena

We’re headed to Cartagena, Colombia in fall of 2024. We expect to extend our little library project to the city of Cartagena by the end of the year.

Coming Soon.

How does it work?

The library is for everyone.

Need a book? Take one.

Have a book? Leave one.

Books are meant to be read, they are more than ornaments for the shelf. All books on the shelves are available for your reading pleasure. You can snuggle up with a lavender chai latte in Bondi’s cafe to read or take the book with you. Yes, we mean that you can take the books out of the cafe and home with you.

Is it really free?

Yes. We’re serious. You can take books from this library to read. Why? As writers and readers, we struggled to access tangible books in English. We wanted to be part of the change in accessing unique titles in English in places we traveled.

We’re not in this to make money. Neither should you. Remember these books aren’t for you to resell. You wouldn’t make any good coin selling them anyway. Just enjoy.

Keep up the magic through a model of read, return, repeat.

What books can I trade?

Think of the library as if you were recommending a book to a friend. You don’t dump a bad book on a friend.

You don’t sneak in a crap novel to a bestie just to get it out of your house.

The library is a way to share stories you love. If you didn’t enjoy a book, why burden someone else with a bad read? Give the best so we can keep up the best in the library.

Who contributed to building the library?

Writers from all journeys and walks of life in Casablanca meet weekly on Tuesdays to make space for creativity. Among creating their own stories, they contributed to the books on the shelves. Bondi Coffee Kitchen held space for our weekly creativity. We’re excited to have built the library in the city’s cozy cafe.
