“I really like Ideas Write Now because it's a focus point in my week where I know that I need to show up and produce, create, write something. And that's a lovely appointment that I like to keep for myself. Rose is always there with encouragement if I need it, and it's a really lovely thing to be able to make something creatively in a group with other people.”

Hugh Bohane, Journalist, Australia

FAQs

Do I have to write every day?

Nope. We understand it works for some, great. We’re more interested in what works for you. Your first month is about self-discovery. Trying on various elements of habit building to uncover your frequency of writing.

When can I enroll?

We have rolling enrollment to match your busy schedule, not the other way around. The best time to enroll is today.

What if I don’t have time right now?

I understand this statement. Truly. Writing, along with most joyful activities unrelated to our vocation, get put on the back burner when our schedule fills up. Instead of holding expectations of how much and when to write, we’ll help you focus on how to show up for yourself as a writer first. Even if that’s just once a week, we can help you build the habit of writing that always fits your life.

Do I have to know what I’ll work on over the program?

A blank slate is great. A big idea is also great. Through the six months you’re flexing muscles for a repeatable writing process you can bring to any project. For the program, in month two we’ll help you narrow in on a concept or specific project. If you come in with an idea of what you want to write we’ll help you shape it over the six months.

What will I learn about writing?

We’ve got you covered for process, production, editing, and mindset, oh and of course, joy. We’ll leave grammar and sentence structure for other courses.  We’re more interested in the action of writing, the development of your process to get words on the page. We focus on you, not what you could learn in a textbook.
