Escape to Suoi Luong Art Center
The grounds of the Suoi Luong Ecotourism Zone lie in the valley below the famous Hai Van Pass. Only 16km from the city center, Suoi Luong provides a comfortable stay among the lush Vietnam countryside. Suoi Luong features cultural sites, a museum, restaurants, diverse bungalows, and vast areas of open space. With nature walks, waterfalls, and wading pools, the grounds offer a serene atmosphere for peace, quiet, and writing.
Workshops
What the Fiction?
With all too many excuses to second guess the muse, this workshop is focused on letting creativity unearth when there are no worries of perfection, expectation, or completion. The workshop is an on-the-spot collaborative writing experience for the adventurous and willing hand. Leaving grammatical edits and criticism aside, the workshop instead strives for pen to paper, scribbling-so-fast-you-can-hardly-read-the-words type of writing.
Rose Hedberg is a freelance writer and creative workshop facilitator who studied creative writing at The University of Northern Colorado.
Poetry Isn’t Just For The Pro(se)
Are you struggling to find the perfect “show” in your writing? Are you looking for a way to describe a smell, taste, a feeling, or just trying to curve the cliches? To give you more possibility as the writer, we'll examine how poetics can be a powerful agent in breaking the standard images. We’ll experiment with synesthesia and play with the boundaries of poetry to incorporate poetic style, meter, and repetition into prose writing.
Ky Huynh is a writer, avid reader, and teacher living and working in Da Nang Vietnam.
A Story for Your Story
To create a strong foundation for your offering, Lucy will be take you through the exact same brand-story crafting process as she does her clients. Whether you're looking to position yourself as an expert on your novel topic or your freelance niche, this workshop will help you package and promote with clarity and consistency.
Lucy O’Connor is a contract based writer, brand consultant and voice over artist from Wellington, New Zealand. She runs two independent projects: a vintage clothing buy / sell group, and Selfie Reflective, a podcast that presents different perspectives on the status-update quo.
Find Your Ritual to Enhance Creativity
How do you set yourself up for writing everyday? How do you build a space that is comfortable and conducive for creativity? Clearing a pathway for expression and observation, we’ll engage in the art of a tea ceremony to discover the importance of developing an individual ritual before writing.
Andrew J. Smith has been developing his tea expertise since 2002. Trained under Taiwanese tea masters, Andrew provides specialized gongfu tea service, tea education, and sourcing consultation.
Show Time
Writers have only words to conjure images, but the task of painting a picture can feel daunting. Does this detail mean anything to the reader? Have I added too much? These questions can be stifling to the process of getting ideas on to the page. To practice a better flow of writing, we’ll explore what the “greats” mean by show don’t tell. By understanding how to transform our everyday observations into images, we can develop a habit of detail that entertains our narrative and more importantly, satisfies the reader.

Rooftop Yoga
Having the clarity and peace of mind to write begins with a balance of the body and mind. As a weekend of creativity, we’ll begin each morning with rooftop yoga.
